New Docs: Get $10k in Google Grants + Value Added Products

Gogole AdWords and an unrelated Value-Added Products

We’ve added a couple of new pdfs to our Documents and Publications page.

One details the process through which Farmers’ Markets (and other non-profits) can apply for free services and up to $10,000 of free advertising from Google.  More info from the pdf:

Google AdWords Grants gives eligible nonprofits $10,000 per month in free Google AdWords advertising to promote themselves at the top of Google search results pages. That is a potential annual ad budget of $120,000 that your market can use to attract donors, recruit volunteers and connect with customers. Your market receives credit towards AdWords and not $10,000 in cash. Many nonprofits are already benefitting from this donation.

The other has suggestions for Vendors on getting Value Added Products in to markets.  From the document:

This document addresses the opportunities and challenges in selling value-added products at farmers’ markets, including labour and other costs, how to get into a market, sales marketing techniques, and other valuable insights. This information is based on comments and feedback from market managers in the Greenbelt Farmers’ Market Network and was presented by Peter McClusky at the February 9th, 2018 AgriFood Management Institute’s Bon Appetit Food Business Conference in Cobourg, Ontario.

Three Areas Covered:  1. Cost of attending a market. 2. Getting into a market, and; 3. Marketing ideas when you’re at the market.

Find them and other useful information on the Documents and Publications Resource Page right here.
